Or is it? Lately, scammers and fraudsters are getting more and more savvy. It takes every anaytical tool in the tool box to determine if a phone call or email is legitimate. And it's ok to take a deep breath and walk away, before you answer something that you are just not sure of.

Now there are more social media scams afoot. CIRO (mutual fund dealers regulator) and Wealthsimple are warning about scams where fraudsters are posing as registered dealer firms to run "pump and dump" scams. Diligence is required at every turn. If you see something that you don't think is legitimate, you can ask me and I will try and help as best I can. I have had a few instances recently where clients have asked and they were right to do so.
